Simple Jess

In the Ozarks, widow Althea Winsloe fends off her neighbours' plans to marry her off again. She hires Jesse Best, the gentle man the village calls Simple Jess, to work her farm, and slowly learns that his honesty and steady kindness are worth more than clever talk.
