Copyright and takedown requests

Last updated October 19, 2026

We respect the rights of authors and rights holders. TropeMatch does not store or distribute book texts: we show the title, the author’s name, a short description, a list of plot tropes, a cover as an illustration of the edition, and links to stores.

If you are an author or rights holder

You can:

  • claim a book and ask us to correct its tropes, description or links;
  • ask us to remove a book or its cover from the catalogue.

To do so, use the support page or write to n.zakharovv@gmail.com.

What to include in your request

  1. The title of the book and the address of its page on our site.
  2. Who you are: the author, a publisher or a rights holder, and how you can confirm it.
  3. What exactly should be done: remove, change, replace the cover.
  4. How to contact you.

What happens next

  • We will reply within 5 business days.
  • If the request is justified, the material will be removed or corrected; a removed page returns status 410 so that search engines forget it sooner.
  • If we need more information, we will ask you for it.

Covers

Covers are shown as illustrations of editions, so that readers can recognise a book. They come from open library catalogues such as Open Library and, for books whose rights have expired, from the public domain. If you are a rights holder and want a cover removed or replaced, write to us and we will do it within the stated time.

Trademarks

Store names and logos belong to their owners and are used to show where a link leads.
