Terms of Use
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms set out the conditions on which you use the TropeMatch website (the “Service”). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
TropeMatch helps you find books by plot tropes, dynamics and mood: include the ones you want, exclude the ones you do not, and filter by genre, author’s country, year and length. The Service is informational. We do not sell books and we do not store or distribute their texts; links lead to the websites of stores and libraries.
2. Operator of the Service
Individual entrepreneur Nikita Yu. Zakharov, in Russian: Индивидуальный предприниматель Захаров Никита Юрьевич, INN 100130477573, OGRNIP 322100000019548. Contact: n.zakharovv@gmail.com.
3. How we build the catalogue
Descriptions and tropes are prepared by the editors from book blurbs and contents. Tropes describe plot features and are not a judgement of quality. We try to avoid spoilers but cannot guarantee there are none. If you find a mistake or want to change the details of a book, write to us through the support page.
4. Links to third-party sites
We are not responsible for the content or terms of third-party sites that we link to, nor for prices or availability of books in stores. Some links may be affiliate links: see the “Affiliate links” section.
5. Intellectual property
- The design, source code, collections and original texts of the Service belong to the operator. Copying without permission is not allowed.
- Book titles, author names, covers and store logos belong to their rights holders and are shown for information, so that readers can recognise an edition.
- If you are a rights holder and believe material has been posted unlawfully, follow the procedure in the “Copyright” section.
6. Rules of use
You may not:
- use the Service unlawfully or in a way that infringes the rights of others;
- put excessive load on the site, bypass restrictions, or bulk-download its content automatically without the operator’s consent;
- send support messages that are knowingly false, abusive or advertising.
If these rules are broken, we may restrict access to the Service.
7. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the absence of errors, and we are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of the catalogue or for losses arising from the use of third-party sites. The operator’s liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
8. Age restrictions
The Service is marked 16+. The catalogue includes books for adult readers; where possible, such books carry content warnings.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. Send claims to n.zakharovv@gmail.com; we answer within 30 calendar days. Disputes that cannot be settled by negotiation are heard by the court at the operator’s place of residence.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. A new version takes effect when it is published on this page; its date is shown at the top.
